MaxiLock Boxes

From: Aahz (mraahz@gmail.com) | Date: 2006-11-11 04:58:37 UTC
While Zairabear and I were at the 99c Only Store this afternoon we
came across a new (to us at least) Lock 'n' Lock clone called Maxi
Lock. Has anyone used/seen/tried these boxes? We love LnLs, but find
them cost prohibitive at times.

We just did a simple water tight test and we give it a B. We closed
up three sheets of toilet paper in it then put it in the sink and
filled the sink with water. With the water running we flipped it,
pushed it under water and basically toyed with it. After drying the
outside of the box we opened it to find the TP 85% dry. It seemed a
drop or two got in the box but anything in its own baggie would surely
be fine.

Oooh! Sounds pretty good... where is the 99c store you went to? Maybe I
can check it out tomorrow.

It's in the same shopping center as the Gilroy Hitchhiker Hostel :-)

Since Lock & Lock are from Korea, I've found that the big Korean grocery
store has them cheaper than any other place I've found them retail. Of
course the selection is totally variable, but checking them frequently
gets me what I need over time. So, maybe check for any Korean or Asian
grocery stores, or import stores for cheaper L&L.

Aahz, I think you are in the south bay? If this isn't too far, maybe
you can check this place out sometime:
Han Kook Supermarket, 1092 East El Camino Real,Sunnyvale, CA, 94085

We have a Korean market up here near SF and they carry the lock n
locks for 1.29-1.79. The maxi locks sound pretty good too, but if the
.99 cent store doens't always have them, you might check to see if Han
Kook has something.

=)
